Tremors Hit Mexico city Earthquake Today
On Tuesday, a massive earthquake struck the coastline of South Mexico, and its tremors were felt in Mexico City hundreds of miles from there. Its intensity on the Richter scale was measured at 7.5. According to the report, the tremors were so intense that people were forced to leave the streets and a tsunami warning was also issued. However, no information has been found at this time about the loss of life and property from this earthquake. According to the American Geological Survey, the earthquake was 7.4 and its epicenter was near the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the state of Oaxaca ,Mexico and Mexicali.
Five people were killed and 30 others were injured in the severe earthquake in Mexico. The Mexican Security and Civil Defense Secretariat reported four deaths, while Alejandro Murat, governor of Oaxaca province, reported the fifth death. All the deaths occurred in Oaxaca province, which was the epicenter of the earthquake. The National Civil Protection Authority said that more than 30 people were injured in the earthquake. Five hospitals located in the south of the country have been damaged by the earthquake.
President of Mexico Andres Manuel López Obrador said that no preliminary report of the damage has been received yet, he is still awaiting the report from the hilly state of Oaxaca.
